Water dechloriazation
Activated carbon is a micro porous adsorbent, carbon based, with big specific surface and it is used for removing residual chlor, correction of organoleptic water qualities, as well as removing unwanted organic matters present in the drinking water.
Activated carbon is used for the correction of unpleasant smell and taste in the water – DEODORISATION, as well as removing phenols and other organic matters unwanted in drinking water.
Also, activated carbon is used for removing residual chlor from the drinking water – DECHLORINATION, and devices used for the purpose are called DECHLORINATORS.
For water treatment it is mostly used activated carbon of high purity with low amount of ash. Activated carbon is put into filters that can be of different materials (inox, plastic…), as well as automatic and manual filtration control.

Dechlorinators are designed in case we need to remove residual chlor and a palette of chemical compounds that give unpleasant smell and taste to soda ash.
